Leaving Knysna (Plett), back to Cape Town for 'Half Time' conference
We are now on our way back to Cape Town. I have a busy weekend ahead of me. Lloyd Reeb and Tiger Dawson from the 'Half Time' organisation (together with some other American friends) arrive in Cape Town this evening. We shall be having a startegic set of workshops with some of our region's top executives and political leaders to share the challenge of 're-tooling' their lives from being success driven to seeking to be significant within their sphere of influence for Christ and Christ's Kingdom - from success to significance. On Saturday afternoon we are meeting a few hundred Church leaders at the Soter Church in Parrow (2-6pm) to discuss and work out how we can form strategic partnerships to address some of the most pressing and significant needs in our community.
If you're in the Cape Town area and would like attend the Pastors meeting at Soter church please feel free to come along.

I hope that the number one item on your agenda this weekend is how to care for the thousands of displaced people throughout the Western Cape. What are we going to do with all the people sheltering in our church halls? And how do we speak God's truth into the lives of the communities that chased them out?
I look to your gathering for wisdom - because I do not have a clue how to go forward.

Thanks so much for the comment. As always, I appreciate your faithfulness in holding me accountable. I shall certainly keep this issue at the very forefront of my thoughts, influence, and interactions.
Just to say that the deputy mayor of the Cape Town Unicity will be at the meeting on Saturday at 2pm (Soter Church) to address the issue of Xenophobia and how we can help the refugees etc. It would be great to see as many people as possible there.
Pete, have you posted details of the xenophobia panel discussion on Friday at UCT on your blog? Pete's blog is http://www.rockinthegrass.blogspot.com (just in case you would like to follow it).
