All is well

Some computer and personal news...

A quick computer note before getting to some family news. I finally managed to get iBlog working on my iBook!!! Wow, what a relief, for a while there I thought that I may actually have to do something on a Windows PC! Close call!!

As for the family. Megie starts lecturing at Tshwane University of Technology next month. She is very excited about that. In the meantime she is working for the Institute for Public Finance, and is enjoying that as well. I am so pleased that her work with the H2R consultancy has worked out so well. I know that she is very gifted and can do a great many things, but it is always fantastic when others recognize those same traits in her!

We will get Courtney's first term school report from her school today. She has settled in very well at her new school. She was so proud of the fact that she managed to swim without anybody holding her at her last swimming lesson (she still uses a floating device, but at least she is growing in confidence).

As for me, things are going along steadily. Tomorrow is the John Wesley College Graduation ceremony. I have put quite a bit of work into making sure that it goes off smoothly. I trust that it will. It is going to be a real celebration and thanksgiving for all the students who get their diplomas, degrees and awards. I am so grateful to my own students for the tremendously hard work they have put into making the event a success!

Other than that, my doctorate is still moving along at a steady pace. I have been doing some reading and quite a bit of thinking about the exact direction that the Dissertation should take. Since moving away from Teilhard I have had to do quite a bit of work to figure out just where I will position the research in order to have a manageable area of study and have something significant to contribute towards the field.

As soon as I have something worthwhile I will post it here for comment. I have also been feeling a strong desire to start writing again. I have a few ideas for articles, and maybe even a book. Who knows, I may just try to get something out before the end of the year!
